There’s also more and sometimes heavier wall mounted guns that are harder, sometimes impossible to avoid. In level 5 I think you start to meet the black guys (which come after the white tier 2 dudes) that are more like elites - they sometimes sport laser rifles or heavy assault guns. Don’t forget that the early security personnel you meet are the equivalent of the night guard in a common warehouse. WW is way too easy though, you can wade into the middle of most firefights and plug away, whereas LC needs a much more careful approach and use of tools like the spider mines, but the difficulty gulf was too great.Īfter reading rezaf’s post above, obviously WW gets harder by the looks of things, after all I’m still in the early stages, perhaps it’s just poorly named and is really “normal”. I reverted back to Weekend Warrior difficulty because Loose Cannon was just proving frustrating, situations I should have been able to deal with but kept failing due to klutzing the controls. I think Crusader might have worked better like this, although it would have lost a bit of finesse (if you can call its current system finessable). D/G had slightly odd controls, but you could only fire in the direction you were traveling which actually made it much simpler. D/G was more puzzly in nature, and obviously the aesthetic differed, but it was a similar isometric action approach. I haven’t played the Tomb Raider game, maybe I should?Ĭrusader reminds me a bit of D/Generation ( ) which was an old Amiga game (perhaps a PC version was available too). ![]() I also still like the art design and most of the general gameplay. The best parts for me are when I make clever use of a spiderbomb or get to remote-control a bot or gun emplacement. Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but a hundred ought to be doable at this pace…ĭespite these criticisms, I still enjoy the game overall. These days there’d be an achievement “collect 1000 keycards of any color”, and I guess you could unlock it in a single playthrough. Some early FPS games have been criticized when there was keycard-hunting, but this game really cranks this up to eleven. I mean, I solved them all in the end, but doing so was no fun. What also annoys me are some of the oh-so-clever puzzles, especially the ones where you have to redirect some lasers or something. Worst are the parts when you’re supposed to traverse on those little hoverpad thingies … even getting onto them is a pita. ![]() But at Weekend Warrior it’s only gotten frustrating in the last level, where there were some really unfair setups I essentially ended up just running past (still surviving just barely). I’ve kinda gotten used to them by now (I’m in level 7 I think), but I’m taking a lot of unneccessary damage, I fall off ledges and into pools and generally stumble around. The controls are definately not going to win any awards, so much is for sure. ![]() ![]() ![]() Bill recognized Ford's brilliant but cocky and insecure nature, and his near-friendlessness as ideal conditions for manipulation, choosing to introduce himself to Ford as a muse who chose one brilliant mind every century to inspire. Heedless of the warnings, Ford repeated the incantation aloud, summoning Bill into his mindscape. During the roadblock, he uncovered the ancient cave containing the ancients' stories of Bill Cipher. In the late twentieth century, a young man named Stanford Pines, who had spent the past six years investigating the town's plethora of unnatural creatures and oddities, hit a roadblock in his research and was left without answers as to how the improbabilities of Gravity Falls had come to be. The area would eventually be rediscovered by Quentin Trembley and repopulated by pioneers, giving rise to the town of Gravity Falls.īill tricks Ford into building a gateway to the Nightmare Realm. The valley was deemed a "cursed land" by the natives, who evacuated around 1000 AD. They left behind elaborate cave paintings about their encounter with the demon, including how to summon him, and more importantly, a warning never to read the incantation that would summon Bill aloud. The natives eventually discovered a way to defeat Bill by using a zodiac with ten symbols. When Modoc learned of the prophecy that foretold of an apocalyptic event that would stem from interactions with Bill Cipher, he lit himself on fire in an effort to avert it. In order to make his dealings with mortals easier, he took on the name "Bill Cipher" as his real name would "evaporate one with an expression of horror and ecstasy on their face." Among his targets were the natives who lived in what would become the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon.īill once asked a local shaman named Modoc the Wise to build an interdimensional gateway to the Nightmare Realm, but the result was made out of twigs. Without a physical form, however, Bill could only access the dreams of the third dimension's beings. After coming to learn of a prophecy that stated he would merge the Nightmare Realm with the third dimension, Bill started coming into contact with humans to accomplish this. Unfortunately, due to the Nightmare Realm's lawlessness and lack of any consistent physics or rules, it was fated to collapse into itself eventually. He eventually took over a boiling, shifting intergalactic foam between dimensions: a lawless, unstable crawlspace known as the Nightmare Realm. Bill despised living there, describing it as a dimension of "flat minds in a flat world with flat dreams." He "liberated" his dimension by plunging it into burning chaos, along with everyone he'd ever known, including his own parents. Trillions of years prior to the events of the series, Bill Cipher originated in the second dimension. 12.1.1 Deluxe Bill Cipher Plush - $59.99 USD. ![]() |
